In Art we learn in an active way; exploring skills using materials and techniques in creative and expressive contexts.
We discover how artists and designers have used these same skills to create some of the world’s most exciting artworks and iconic pieces of design.
Learners nurture curiosity while developing transferable skills in analysis and observation as well as practical skills in problem solving and critical thinking.

Art in the BGE
Art in S1 – S3 prepares learners with a strong foundation in Drawing, Painting, Designing, and Making. The courses equip learners with the skills and experience they need to continue their learning journey into our Senior Phase.
Learners can also build, develop and showcase their photography skills through our well established Monthly Photography Competition.
At Hamilton Grammar School we are very proud of the work and achievements of our pupils. We have showcased the fantastic pieces of art in a virtual gallery, which can be found at the link below.
