Spanish

In the Spanish course, pupils build on the existing literacy skills they have developed in English and French (and other languages).

 

Pupils also learn to understand and communicate with others while learning about the rich culture of Spanish-speaking countries around the world.

Spanish in S1

The S1 Spanish course contains the following topic:

  • Me presento (learning to introduce myself and give personal information; describing myself and my family and friends).

Spanish in S2

The S2 Spanish course contains the following topics:

  • El mundo hispanohablante (learning about Spanish-speaking countries around the world – their geography, their facts, their festivals; planning a trip to a Spanish-speaking country).
  • Mis pasatiempos (talking about my interests and hobbies and giving opinions).

Spanish in S3

In S3, all pupils complete the Modern Languages for Life & Work award at SCQF Levels 3 or 4.

This award contains the following topics:

  • Life: Spanish cinema; writing a film review; discussing opinions on films.
  • Work: learning about job opportunities; discussing future plans; writing a CV; participating in a job interview.
