Welcome to the Chemistry Department

Our Chemistry department provides pupils with the opportunity to discover the atoms, molecules and compounds making up the Earth.

We make studying Chemistry fun and accessible for all through a range of hands-on experiments and teacher demonstrations. Pupils examine; the Periodic Table, chemical reactions, carbon chemistry, nuclear chemistry and the practical ways in which chemistry has impacted on our everyday lives.

Chemistry in S3

Pupils have the opportunity to choose Chemistry during the S2 options process, for study in S3.   The S3 course sets the foundation for the Senior Phase courses we offer from S4-6.

Chemistry in the Senior Phase

In S4-6, pupils have options to choose from, which provide a natural progression in the subject.

• Advanced Higher Chemistry
